The Dick Scherpenzeel Foundation is a Dutch NGO which aims to stimulate and analyse news about non-western countries in the Dutch media. Every year, the foundation organises a contest called “The Forgotten Story” to bring into the picture those stories that for some reason have not made it to the international news, even though they are more than worth it.
This year, Mirte Gosker (MSc International Development Studies of the Wageningen University) is competing amongst many others with the story of San Martin de Amacayacu, and in fact many other indigenous communities on this globe. On December the 18th, the list of the ten best stories will be published, and these will compete for a very handy Flip mini HD camera! Mirte´s story has to win!!
