Thanks to modern technology and the dedicated efforts of Javier Diaz, currently continuing his MSc studies in Quebec, Canada, the enormous hand-drawn map of the ancestral territory of San Martin de Amacayacu is digital! This would seem an easy task: just take pictures of each square separately, and then past them together again on the computer, right? Actually, it´s not at all that easy, so we are very proud of the result! It actually means that we no longer need to worry about cockroaches, mice and humidity, which are slowly doing their damage on the paper version, as the map can be printed on plastic as many times as needed. What a relief.
