The Small World Foundation has several active members in The Netherlands, one in Canada and one in San Martin de Amacayacu in the Colombian Amazon. Of course, these committed people can always use a hand. Just think about translating the newsletter from Dutch to English, organizing charity events or occasions to sell the exclusive handmade jewellery, finding sponsors etc. In agreement with the people of San Martin de Amacayacu, there could also be options to work directly in the community, where you could develop activities such as organizing general information on the computer, or teaching these or other skills to those interested.
Please, be aware that nobody at the Small World Foundation receives any salary or other monetary reward for their kind efforts. We are responsable for our own expenses, independent of the country where we are working. If you wish to travel to San Martin de Amacayacu for a voluntary project, it is necessary to have some working experience in the tropics, possess excellent Spanish language skills and have the previous approval of San Martin de Amacayacu.
If you are interested in supporting our activities for the Tikuna indigenous community of San Martin de Amacayacu, please do not hesitate and send your resume to heike_van_gils@hotmail.com.
